I didn't add my husband as the other admin when I set this account up; I assumed I could go back and add him later after I checked his email address. I'd like him to have the same admin control as me. Is this possible?1 vote
Absolutely. If you share your lifecake with your husband, just be sure to add him with the rights to:
‘Comment, Add, Edit’.
He will than have the same parental controls you do.
If you have any questions or other suggestions, please let us know!
I do not think there is currently a way to remove a friend or family member once they have accepted the invite? Although you would hope never to need such a function, I imagine there will be circumstances which warrant it.1 vote
Hi, Jo! Thanks a lot for the suggestion.
We actually have this today – the ability to remove someone’s access – but it’s not as clear as we’d like.
On your phone or iPad you can click on Sharing – or on our Website on your computer, you can click on the ‘Family and friends’ button at the top of the site – and then you can select an existing content. Then you can change the permissions to ‘None’ for permissions.
But we will look to make this simpler!
It's a bit annoying that when I delete a photo, the gallery viewer closes and I have to find my way back to where I was to continue browsing through the photos if I want to delete some more.5 votes
Occasionally I will upload the wrong photo to my son's LifeCake-- like one that is out of focus or not the exact one I want. I noticed that even if I delete it from the LifeCake on my computer, it still shows up when my husband views LifeCake or when I look at my son's LifeCake on my Android phone. I think it would be a good idea to let the person who contributed the photo delete it so it doesn't show up to other viewers.2 votes
Hi, Angie! Thanks for the feedback!
Items you delete on your phone or computer will be deleted from others’ devices, but it will happen when they refresh their Website or app timelines. We will investigate ways to zap content without even doing refreshes, but in the meantime you can be sure that the content will be deleted.
I'm french, and in french, names can have accents like é, ë, è, etc.
In all email notifications, I see strange characters (like ) instead of accents.
Could you be more international?
Hi! This was fixed, so please let us know if you still see any problems.
Thanks for your patience!
Is there any way to make the links in the update emails automatically open in the IPhone app when you read on an iPhone? Currently they seem to send us to the website, which is not enabled for mobile phones.1 vote
The photos look lovely on the desktop site, but scrolling down them on the mobile site, they're all cropped from the top so it's hard to see what they are until you open them individually. Perhaps they could be cropped from centre? Or have a crop option?
Just a thought!1 vote
Would be really useful to be able to see the image(s) I want to publish in full size when choosing among all of them on my iPhone.
Sometimes, I take 4, 5, 6, even more photos of my child, and I cannot see which one I want to publish because they are too small.2 votes
Have you all thought about making the captions for photos more visible in the iphone and Android apps? In the iphone app, you only see them when you click on the picture in slideshow mode, and in the Android app, I can't figure out how to see it at all. It would be awesome if the caption just appeared in white along the bottom of each picture automatically-- it's a big part of the story/context for the images.1 vote
Hi, Angie! In the latest Android version you can now see captions – and you can even add or edit them directly in the app.
We’re working on ways to make them even more visible in the main timelines for our Website and apps.
I would like to be able to get the original versions of photos posted by other users - e.g., to use for an iPhone screen background.1 vote
Hi! With the latest version of our iPhone app in the App Store, you can now download full-res images from your lifecake.
To update: Just go to the App Store app on your phone and check for updates.
To download: Tap on whichever content you want to download in lifecake, and then tap on the arrow in the bottom left.
We’ll be adding this to the Website and Android apps later.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Get with the programme - Android is where it is at. C'mon Nico!
Hi! You can get lifecake for Android here now:
We are updating it all the time, so please send any feedback or requests.
Hi, I would love to be able to flick through all the images instead of having to come out of each day's album and then choose another one.
Perhaps linking the albums would be a good idea? You could give the option to View Next Day/Album/Week/Month?
Loving Lifecake though!
Hi, all! This is now possible on iPhone and iPad, too. Just download the latest version from the App Store, and when you’re viewing content full-screen you can keep scrolling left or right across days.
I have photos of my baby with other babies who may also have Lifecakes. It would be great to be able to "tag" them in the photos so that the image would appear in their Lifecake too.4 votes
It would be great to be able to manually change the date of the photo or drag and drop it in the correct day. For some reason some of my uploads are staying in TODAY.
Also it would be really helpful if we could rotate the image once it was uploaded.8 votes
Hi! You can now rotate images in lifecake. Here are a few guides:

Right now it's a bit tricky to figure out where the timestamp can be changed for two reasons: 1) the annotation on the bottom of the photo is easily missed and 2) the text doesn't seem to indicate that it's the timestamp of the photo1 vote
It would be really cool to be able to import certain photos albums I have on Picasa and Facebook, but to be able to select which ones and not bring them all in.
Is something like that planned?11 votes
Hi! On www.lifecake.com on your computer you can now add content from Facebook, Picasa and Instagram, just by clicking the big green + button. We will be adding more services, too!
And in the next weeks we will add this ability on iPhones, iPods and iPads, too.
If you have any requests for specific sites – like Youtube or Tumblr, please let us know!
