Instead of having the timeline label be based on how many days or weeks ago the photo was uploaded, it would be more helpful to be labeled according to Baby's age as of the date of the photo (i.e. two weeks old, one month old, 6 weeks old, one year old, etc.).16 votes
Hi! So sorry for the delay in responding to this – it slipped through the net. Can you tell us which device you’re using?
every song I selected was copyright . Can you filter so only available songs are shown?1 vote
Hi Jim! Thanks for the suggestion – it makes total sense and we’ll definitely investigate whether this is possible with a workaround. Today, we’re allowed access to the music you have in iTunes and we’re only given the copyright alert once you make your selection.
The admin (me) should set up the notification defaults for people whom I add. My mom and dad and other elderly relatives aren't technologically savvy, and so when I add them, they'll get notifications on their smartphones as well as an email. I know them well enough to know that they don't want both, so it would be kind of nice if I could remotely set their notification preferences with an understanding that they could make changes if they decided to figure out how to do that.9 votes
Thanks a lot, Marcia! We will discuss this and see if there might be a way to do this in a simple way. We absolutely understand the desire to tailor communications for family members.
Instead of having a set "12 weeks" or "day one" you should be able to edit this.3 votes
Thanks a lot, Jake. What ideally would you like to be able to edit these to?
Thanks for the feedback!
Make it so the app sorts the photos from dates rather than having to trawl through thousands of photos yourself!!1 vote
Hi, Emma! Thanks a lot for this.
Currently when you import content into our apps – from the phone, tablet, computer or Web accounts – we automatically put moments into your child(ren)’s timeline(s) at the right date. Is this what you mean?
We do sometimes face issues with detecting the date the moment was captured, as many apps remove or alter this data. Which is frustrating.
Please let us know a bit more about what you’re suggesting, and we’ll get right back to you.
So the extra shots in the drawer below the timeline can be dragged onto the timeline to replace those selected automatically. But when I drag a replacement photo from the drawer to the timeline, there is a pre-determined order that the photos are displayed in. This is actually a bit annoying! It would be far better if I could drag and drop the exact image I want from the drawer and onto the exact thumbnail where I'd like it displayed.10 votes
We’re so sorry about the delay in responding on this, James. We are looking at our Website and looking to change quite a few things, and we’ll update here when we have a test version. We’d love to get everyone’s feedback!
Do you plan to support flickr in the near future?35 votes
Hi, Ross! Thanks for the question.
We plan to, but we’re just checking how many votes the idea gets to decide on when we do it. We’ll update you here when we’re sure. And sorry for the delay in the meantime.
I guess it seems to defeat the purpose is you're using this awesome app to share pics/videos with family and friends. But I also like to be able to store all the pics/videos in one place. Some pics I may not necessarily want to share with everyone that can view the timeline so the option to make some pics/videos private would be great! Either way, I LOVE LifeCake!78 votes
Thanks a lot for the suggestion, Thuy! We’ve been having lots of discussions about this in our team, and we may come back with a few questions on this. But it is definitely on our radar.
Have a great day!
Allow photos to be tagged by location/place. Instagram has this feature. Makes it easier to tag rather than having to describe where every picture was taken.49 votes
Hi, Pauline. We’re so sorry this suggestion didn’t get a response.
We’ve had a lot of thought about this as a team, and we’ve always worried that location information might seem a bit intrusive. But we’re thinking about ways we can do this so it’s totally optional and wouldn’t violate the privacy of parents or their children.
We’ll update in there when we know more :-)
Hi! Would you be able to make the app able to turn into landscape mode to make typing easier?4 votes
Hi Judit! Thanks so much for the suggestion. We’ll add it to our backlog for sure and keep an eye on the number of votes.

It would be nice if user could configure comments to show when in the timeline view instead of having to drill into a particular photo. Maybe when mouse over comment icon on desktop or touch pic on mobile devices.6 votes
Hi Jim! Thanks a lot for this. It’s a really interesting idea that could certainly have a place on the bigger screen – tablets, computer. We’re unable to tackle it now but let’s see how it gets on in the voting.
Sort the "Add Photos and Video" source list by most used, or allow hiding of sources that aren't used.
When adding photos, it would be great to either hide sources that I don't use (like Facebook, Picasa, and Instagram) or to sort the list by most frequently used sources.
I realize that you can just click "All photos and videos" but its still visual clutter for those that don't use those services.1 vote
Hi Eugene! Thanks for this suggestion. You make a really good point and we have some ideas about tackling this. Is your default album typically ‘camera roll’ or do you source from other albums equally?
I know there are notifications when people click on the heart button but I am wondering if you could add a tab or just something within the existing search function to view these photo's only? Both in the app and on the website, it would be good to view all the photo's that people have liked and then even filter it by child too.4 votes
Hi Nick! We think this is a great idea and something we must have. We don’t yet have a timescale but we’ll be sure to update here when this feature is available.
Thanks for your patience in the mean time!
It would be great if there was a built in photo editor to add things such as filters and maybe stickers, a lot of companies charge for stickers so you could have a set free sticker pack and charge for other premium ones.
It would be great to just be able to make small edits to photo's and then upload within the app itself rather than editing them in another app and then saving them and then uploading them, it would also free up space on devices...64 votes
Hey Nick! Thanks for the suggestion. We are looking into our options to offer basic photo editing within our apps and from our web – it is definitely something we want to do.
I’d love to know how you (and others) would like to use stickers. What type of stickers would you be most interested in?

Within the iPhone app. I regularly put updates regarding my son's medical condition and would be good to quickly find entries.6 votes
Hi, Brigid! Thanks very much for this.
We have a search function on our Website, but we hope to make this much more advanced – and eventually included in our apps, too.
Can you share which criteria you’d most like to search by? Title, tag, comment, date, etc?
I'm just fascinated with this app but pleaseee let us choose the thumbnail we want for each day! thanks!3 votes
Hi! So glad you’re enjoying lifecake :-)
Are you using it on your iPhone? And would you ideally like to be able to drag a photo (or video or story) and put it at the front of the day?
At the moment you can't choose the order of photos taken on the same day, which is a pain. This would be a helpful improvement!41 votes
Hi! Thanks for the suggestion and apologies for the delay in responding.
Would your ideal scenario be that you can drag a photo to be the main one featured that day and then have the rest of the family see the same thing?
Need portrait mode on iPad3 votes
Hi, Ed! Thanks a lot for this and sorry for the delay in responding. This is definitely a feature we’d like to add in the future, and we will update here when we have it.
Thanks for your patience in the meantime!
Through our recent experience using your very beautiful application life-cake we had some ideas:
If the program could recognize the duplicated pictures if they were uploaded from different devices and gave notification about that to prevent this issue.20 votes
Hi, Ruaa! Thanks for the feedback.
We’d really like to recognise duplicates in the future and make this whole process easier to manage. We don’t have a timeframe for that, but we will update here when it’s coming.
Thanks for your patience!
There should be a standard form to capture some specific information of the baby's life, such as day (as well as date) and time of birth, height and weight at birth (and perhaps monthly intervals), location of birth, gender, eye colour and hair colour. I know this can be done through notes, but a standard form that creates a specific nicely-formatted entry (or entries in terms of height/weight) plus photos would be quite nice. I know some of the journals available can collect data on amount of sleep/playing etc. but that's a bit too far into the realms of a log - my suggestion above is more some stated facts in a simple form.

Hi Mark! This is a great idea. You’re right in that today many people do this via our ‘stories’ feature but we could significantly improve the experience here. We’re exploring this idea of ‘milestones’ – we have a D.O.B marker but could expand it to include many of the key facts & stats you mention.
We definitely plan to add this in the future, and we will update here when we have it.
Thanks for your patience in the meantime!
