The parent should be able to limit who adds photos or videos, because you may want some people to be able to view and comment but not be able to upload stuff.172 votes
We wanted to give you an update on this suggestion and we think we owe you a bit of an apology on this matter. As we have been looking into this further, it seems that we were a little over ambitious with our original estimate of when we might be able to deliver it.
To be honest we have been working really hard and since we became part of the Canon family not everything we have planned to be developed went in accordance to our expectations.
We definitely do want to add this feature and we acknowledge a lot of our users would like to see it built into Lifecake and we can assure you that we’ll get it onto our roadmap, just as soon as we have the time and the resources to build it.
Many thanks for your patience and loyalty.
Ed & the Lifecake Team.
It would be so cool to have an app feature that ages your child. You can see how close the app comes to when your child actually reaches that age.0 votes
Hello, we currently have the Time Warp feature on iOS. Does this address your suggestion? Please let us know.
Have a great day,
The Lifecake team.
I think Lifecake is awesome I just wish there was a way to sort the videos. I would like to be able to see the videos by themselves.67 votes
Many thanks for the feedback. It is a great idea. Let’s see what traction this idea gets in the forum and once we see some good votes we’ll get working on it.

I love seeing the age of my child in the pics (years, months, days), but would really also like to see the ages for each of my kids that are in the photos.7 votes
Hi. Thanks for the feedback. I assume you are referring to Detail View here. It’s a really interesting request – our only fear is that it could potentially ‘clutter’ the view a little. Let’s see how our users vote on this – if it gets good traction we’ll certainly prioritise.

I'm afraid that I don't like how the stories display since the new update - it used to show a nice overview in attractive italic text of most of the story and now it shows maybe 3 big words and doesn't look as attractive at all4 votes
Many thanks for this feedback. We do agree that this part of the update requires further work. We’ll ask our designers to get on it and let you know when an update might be available.

have option to view date picture was taken and age of child and then the photos - like the format of Peekaboo Moments
In the past I have used Peekaboo Moments, but really like that you all are good about reading our concerns and addressing them. I am willing to make the switch, but would love to see the view look more like Peekaboo Moments. IMHO the current format on iphone doesn't give as much detail as I would like to see. Also it would be awesome to be able to add stickers to images like in Tinybeans.6 votes
Hi. Thanks for the feedback. It would be great to understand which additional details you’d most value in this view.

Great that you made the flow in the web version scrolling from top to bottom!
I would like to have the possibility to click like in the flow and and comments without click the big image.4 votes
Hey Stefan. We LOVE this idea. Let’s ask others to vote on it and if it gets some traction we’ll definitely look to prioritise.

I would love to share the Lifecake imagery and video with a variety of different friend/family groups in my life, but it would be more appropriate for their communication streams to be separate.
I saw another person on the forum ask if you could hide comments so that one one person didn't have to see the comments of another family member/friend. Having seperate circles could be another way to meet that need. The two people that don't get along would never be in the same circle.2 votes
We backup all photos (including non child) to Google Plus, and sometimes it creates sweet and beautiful animated photos. I tried to upload to Lifecake and the preview during uploaded was animated, but then once added the gif became static.
Gifs are a standard format already supported by all browsers and mobile phones, please preserve the format for lifecake photos.147 votes
Hey Eddie. Thanks for the feedback. We definitely could support animated gifs – it is really just a question of where we focus our resources. We’ll keep an eye on the number of votes this gets and shall keep you posted.

This is such a good suggestion, Lisa. Thank you. We really want to enable this and will be looking to do so in the new year.
i think that nicknames set by the parents should be the names that show for anyone looking at the account. For example, if my brother created his account with just his name, Matt, but I put his nickname as Uncle Matt, everyone should see his name as Uncle Matt when he loves a moment or makes a comment.89 votes
Hi, Sarah! Thanks so much for this (and sorry for the delay in responding). Seems to be getting a lot of votes.
We didn’t do this currently because we know in many families people have their own personal nicknames for people (i.e. ‘Grandma’ for me is ‘Mum’ to my mother). This is our concern with making things universal.
Also, who gets to decide what someone’s nickname is? If it’s personal, then there is no issue. But if it’s universal, then only one person can decide.
Would love to know yours (and anyone else’s) thoughts on this!

Make it possible to create a heading, e.g. Freddie's First Christmas or Trip to the Seaside, and then make groups of photos/stories appear under the heading.20 votes
Hey Alexandra! Thanks for the feedback and sorry for the delayed response. The team talk about this concept a lot – it idea of being able introduce ‘chapters’ or ‘phases’ to the timeline. We don’t yet have any fixed plans to implement this but will be doing a lot more thinking in this area.

I recently purchased a Pix-Star Wifi photo frame for all of my family members. The beauty of the frame is that it can automatically receive updates to the frame but having the photos sent to an email address. I find that when I post to Lifecake, I often have to separately email the photos to updates the frame. It would be wonderful if posted photos could emailed and "reflected" to an address attached to a family member. It would be amazing to add this integration or suggest a way I could receive updates to a photo frame. Alternatively, if Lifecake could receive updates from Dropbox, Flickr, etc... that would also solve my problem.

Hi, Josh! So sorry that there was a delay in responding to your suggestion.
We’re looking into how we can enable customers to integrate into photoframes in a simple way. And we’ll update in here when we know more.
In terms of Dropbox, you can actually import from Dropbox on your computer browser, iPhone/iPad or Android in the Lifecake app. It’s an option when you click or tap on +. Just let us know if you have any issues with this.
Have a great day!
I guess it seems to defeat the purpose is you're using this awesome app to share pics/videos with family and friends. But I also like to be able to store all the pics/videos in one place. Some pics I may not necessarily want to share with everyone that can view the timeline so the option to make some pics/videos private would be great! Either way, I LOVE LifeCake!71 votes
Thanks a lot for the suggestion, Thuy! We’ve been having lots of discussions about this in our team, and we may come back with a few questions on this. But it is definitely on our radar.
Have a great day!
We all like to see the comparison of our children when they were the same age would be a great addition to the new then & now . Us at the same age !9 votes
Thanks so much for this suggestion and so sorry for the delay. We have talked about this in the team a lot in the past – we’d love to do this – and it’s something we’re evaluating. We’ll update here when we know more about this.
Please keep the suggestions coming!
Hi Caroline! Thanks for the suggestion – and sorry we’re not getting back to you sooner. We will continue to add platforms from where you can import to Lifecake. We don’t yet have a schedule for OneDrive but we’ll let you know when we do.

I love your slideshow option for uploading multiple photos of a single event, like a birthday party. (This feature sets you apart from your competition). But instead of having to upload each image separately and then make a slideshow out of them (thus duplicating the images on my timeline), it would be great to be able to choose several images at once (from iPhoto or wherever you load from) and put them directly into a slideshow...with no duplicate stills.1 vote
Hi, Joan! So glad you love this feature :-)
Just so we’re sure we understand, are you keen to make slideshows with photos that you don’t want to actually have in your Lifecake timeline?
Thanks for helping us understand.
Nick, from the Lifecake team
We have Lifecake accounts for both our son and our cousin's son, and every time we upload a picture we need to select which child it is for. Since we only upload pics for our son (and just view our cousin's son's account every now and then), it would be great if there were an option to make our son the default so we don't need to select him each time we upload.1 vote
Thanks a lot, Samantha. Sorry for the delay in responding.
We are looking into this, and we’ll update here when we have more information.
Allow photos to be tagged by location/place. Instagram has this feature. Makes it easier to tag rather than having to describe where every picture was taken.48 votes
Hi, Pauline. We’re so sorry this suggestion didn’t get a response.
We’ve had a lot of thought about this as a team, and we’ve always worried that location information might seem a bit intrusive. But we’re thinking about ways we can do this so it’s totally optional and wouldn’t violate the privacy of parents or their children.
We’ll update in there when we know more :-)
When I selected which videos to upload from googleplus, the previews were animated. Now that they're uploaded, the preview thumbnails are all static... I have to click play to see them move.
I liked seeing the many animated thumbnails at once.
Make this happen in the timeline too.
See google plus or facebook for examples.6 votes
Hi Daniel! This is a great idea. We’d love to offer this functionality within our apps. We’ll start investigating how we can best make this happen. Have a great day! Ed
