Thanks a lot, Jed. We’ve discussed this quite a lot as a team before – some of us have wanted exactly this when we’ve been adding events to our kids’ lifecakes.
We are not sure when we might have this, but we will keep you updated when it might be coming.
Thanks for the suggestion!Jed W shared this idea ·
Hi, Bryony. We now use large thumbnails – and square – so you should see a lot fewer thumbnails. We’re seeing how people like this, and we may also do the positioning soon, too. Would love any feedback!
Thanks very much for the suggestion. Do you imagine that they would always appear? Or they might appear when you put the mouse over an image in the timeline?

I like this idea too. By default, I think the title should appear when hovering over an image. Perhaps there could be an option to "always show titles" on the timeline as I'm sure some users would like to see titles quickly while scrolling through the timeline without having to click each image.
Our team was actually discussing this idea at dinner a few nights ago. We find this with our own lifecakes: we want to know when family have added older content.
Our plan was to put info about new uploads in the notifications area – where you currently see new comments or favorites – in the apps and Website. Will post an update here it’s coming!
